A highly interactive panel discussion on the Impact of Globalisation on Indian Businesses was organised by the Department of Management Studies, T John College on 19 February 2010. The panelists included Mr. Gopal, Manager (Research) , Satyam, Tech Mahindra, Dr. George Easaw, Principal, TJC, Dr. B S Patil, Director, Management Studies, Prof. Balkrishen, Consultant, Dr. Nilanjana Basu, Head, Biotech and Mr. Arun Kumar , Hospitality Management and Faculty and Student Representatives from the Department of Management Studies.
Moderated by Prof M John, Panel members were invited to speak on a wide range of issues such as the Indian Economy, poverty alleviation, markets, , and the impact of globalisation on various sectors namely Agriculture, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Education, Entrepreneurship and mabny others.
Questions flew thick and fast and the panelists answered them with flair and expertise. The discussion brought together a diversity of views and opinions as well as a new perspective on the negative and positive impact of globalisation on India and other developing countries in the world.
