The year was 1993 when T. John College with its premises in Campbell
Road, Austin Town, Bangalore 47 began. The college founded by Mr. T.
John who is Ex-Minister of State for Infrastructure Development and
Aviation, Government of Karnataka, offered a 3 year BHM Degree course
to 24 students.
The college also offered the BBM and BSc (CMS) courses.
Since a humble beginning in 1993, there has been no looking back. And
every year the college crosses new milestones.
A decade later the college premises has expanded to include new
departments and blocks and spread over an area of 25 acres.
Cosmopolitan and secular in ethos and philosophy, T. John College
attracts students from all over India and the neighboring countries,
especially Sri Lanka.
The college is governed by a governing Board, the Chairman being Dr.
Thomas P.J., the son of the founder Mr. T. John. The other members of
this governing Board are high-profile industrialists, financiers,
entrepreneurs and renowned academicians. At the helm of affairs is the
Campus Director Wg. Cdr. P. Sambasivan, Principal Sister Dr. Flower
Kommattam ably assisted by the Vice Principal Dr. Bini Toms.
Administrative powers are further de-centralized and wielded
judiciously by Chief Co-oridinator, Co-ordinators, Head of Department,
Class Teachers and Subject Teachers. The family also function as
Mentors guiding and counseling the students.
